I recently watched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and, while I really enjoyed how the movie was made (the music, the actors, the comic style, the video game references!), I hated everything else.
For full disclosure: I managed to watch it for the first time just a week ago, and I didn’t know anything about Scott Pilgrim comics or whatsoever before.
So when I finished the movie I was like, “Wow, this is inceler than I imagined.”
(Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers for the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)
But like, in a bad sense. So we have Michael…
When I say I practice martial arts, many people picture me getting my ass kicked day after day and don’t see the point of it. While it sometimes may be true, most of the time my kung fu training brings me a lot of insights.
It keeps me active, helps me focus, and I feel stimulated to question many things.
I’ve found that what I’m learning in the kwoon has a great influence on the rest of my life. And now writing is also part of my life. …
These days people are monetizing everything. While everybody is trapped in the hustling culture, we are all always wondering what’s the next thing that can give you some extra money.
Ideally, the perfect side hustle needs to have three requisites:
(i) it’s something that you can keep doing consistently;
(ii) it should be relatively easy for you to do;
(iii) the time invested-money earned relationship should be favorable.
So if you don’t have problems with the number 2, getting paid for donating your stool may be a viable option.
If you wonder who may want you to donate your poop…
I believe many (straight) people hold this idea that coming out is a very premeditated and unique event. Something that happens once in a lifetime.
In my experience… well, I just couldn’t disagree more. I think once you come out for the first time, you quite never stop coming out.
When you get into the habit of coming out, you easily realize it’s not always equally easy. For me, many times it’s as easy as just casually dropping that I have a girlfriend, but in my lovely time living in Munich, I understood that some people just don’t get it.
Maybe you are here looking for a profitable side hustle. Maybe you want to be the next Tim Denning. Maybe you are another one of many wanting to escape the rat race.
Whatever are your reasons for being here, I’m sure you are always thinking, “How can I achieve more results in less time? If I could only squeeze something else in my day…”
And I know what you are thinking because I was once in the same situation. That’s why I decided to implement some simple habits that changed my life forever. …
Many companies are still stuck on the idea of hiring that mythological 10x developer, so their selection process resembles more of The Twelve Tasks of Asterix than a realistic and honest engineering interview.
Interview processes are designed to find a once-in-a-lifetime individual that may not even exist. This usually translates into interviews asking for impossible things and taking too much time from the candidates. With this, not only we are annoying everybody, we are excluding minorities in STEM.
We need to be creative with the interviewing process. We need to redesign it so it can work as a way to…
As I white person, I’m far from being able to spot all the racism that surrounds me. So when I do, I think “If I see it, isn’t it kind of obvious?”
On the other hand, I think I’m becoming a magnet for detecting sexism and LGTBQphobia. Even if it’s low-key. Especially if is low-key.
The thing is, I guess when you start keeping your eyes and ears open, it’s difficult to come back.
And that’s obviously leading me to some uncomfortable social situations. …

I’m trying to find the words. I don’t want to hurt you, but I think our relationship needs to end now.
You’ve owned my heart and soul for two whole months. Even being with my girlfriend, we’d been always talking about you. Thinking about you. Wondering what would you do or why you did the things you did.
You’ve even made me wonder if I chose the right career path. If I had studied Medicine instead, would I be a gorgeous and successful surgeon today?
You’ve been a…
Today I woke up feeling off for some reason. Maybe it’s the pandemic fatigue, maybe it was the spring. But I was just energyless, one Grey’s Anatomy episode away to start weeping.
But today was sunny in Berlin. And dare I tell you, it’s not usually sunny in Berlin. But when it is, magical things can happen.
Today, the magic came in the shape of an unknown man singing opera on the street. People came out to their balconies and stopped their direction on the streets to pause and listen to him.
Because when the sun shines in Berlin, you…
Decision fatigue is a real deal. In an ever-changing world, we need to keep making decisions at a breakneck speed. That can be exhausting and draining.
I’m a regular subject of this issue. That’s why I want to reduce it to its minimum, especially when it affects my ability to make good decisions about my nutrition and health.
