Thanks for asking, Felix. I can't speak on behalf of other people. However, for me it's important to feel that my friends and family accept and understand (or want to understand) my sexual orientation and how I express my gender and my identity.

I don't blame them for not knowing (yet) some things, but I would like to see that they actively want to learn and they don't brush things off.

I don't want anything really special, just acceptance and not feeling that I need to "hide" or justify more things than the straight people in my family. For example, I've been with my girlfriend for 8 years and my parents don't openly talk about that with the rest of the family. I find it a bit weird, because I don't think the same happens for the straight people in my family.
