First of all, I apologize that my article was insensitive or even offensive. My original intention with the article was venting about people who talk over others in a context of lack of respect. When I wrote the article I unconsciously had a couple of people in mind (that I directly know) and perhaps I failed to reflect that my criticism was targeted to those who interrupted others under the (concious or not) motivation of not really respecting their time or their voice. Would it help if I edit my article to reflect my intentions more clearly?

I completely agree with you that assuming without having the facts straight tends to leave us in a bad place. If we don't know the person we are talking to, we may ignore their background, their circumstances and what they are going through. This is unfair to the other person and, in the best case, it makes a fool of ourselves.
